I began my career in New York City. My father is Broadway playwright P.J. Barry, so I had a good head start. I was off-Broadway at the Roundabout Theatre when I was 8 and on a CBS TV show by 13. The big break came when I starred in Academy Award winning director Bernardo Bertolucci’s controversial film “Luna.” After years of acting in film and television, I begged director Barry Levinson for a behind the scenes job. He asked me

to help out in casting. 17 years later and I’m still loving the job. Having come from the acting world, I know what it takes to “make it” and I do what I can to help along the way. For me, there’s no greater feeling in the world than to help others make their dreams come true.

I’ve discovered or given breaks to James Gandolfini, Rachel McAdams, Katt Williams, Dakota Fanning , Ryan Phillippe, Michael Rapoport, James Lesure, Steve Zahn, Don Cheadle, Lisa Nicole Carson, Ken Leung, Jake Lloyd (Annakin Skywalker), Lucy Liu, David Dorfman, Roselyn Sanchez, Maggie Q, Jason Clarke, Terry Crews, Jason Ritter and many others.

I’ve taught workshops in New York, Chicago, London, Detroit, North Carolina, Miami, Dallas, Sacramento, Los Angeles and frequently teach a 2-day intensive in San Francisco.  I’ve been asked many times by agents, managers and actors to teach a regular class in Los Angeles. I’m eager to pass along my knowledge and help others achieve their dreams.
